Privacy Policy

Startiny is a task app for adults with ADHD. This page explains what information we collect, what we do with it, who else sees it, and how to remove it.

We've kept the language plain. If something here is unclear, email support@rosentech.online and we'll fix it.

The short version

• Your tasks and projects stay on your phone in a local database. We never see them.
• AI features (task splitter, planner) send the text you type to our server, which forwards it to Anthropic's Claude API. The text is processed and discarded.
• We track anonymous usage so we can fix bugs and decide what to build. No real names, no emails, no identifying info.
• The waitlist on this website collects your email so we can invite you to the beta. One-click unsubscribe in every email.
• No ads. No data selling. No third-party tracking SDKs beyond privacy-respecting analytics.

What we collect, when, and why

In the Startiny app (iOS / Android)

• Task data (titles, due dates, durations, projects, labels, recurrence rules, estimated minutes, completion times). Stored only on your device in a local SQLite database. We have no copy. Uninstalling the app deletes everything.
• Anonymous device identifier. A random UUID generated on first launch and stored on your device. Used as the key for usage analytics and for rate-limiting AI requests on our server. Not linked to your real identity, not shared with any third party. Resetting the app or uninstalling generates a new ID.
• Usage analytics. Events like "task_added", "splitter_used", "session_completed". Includes the anonymous device ID, app version, OS version, and device type (e.g., "iPhone, iOS 18"). No task contents, no real names. Opt-out: Settings → Share anonymous usage → off, or uninstall.
• AI request payloads. When you use the AI splitter or planner, the text you type plus your timezone is sent to our Cloudflare Worker proxy. The Worker forwards the text to Anthropic's Claude API for processing, then returns the result to the app. We do not store the request or response on our side. Anthropic does not train on API-submitted text per their commercial terms.

On this website (startiny.rosentech.online)

• Email address (only if you sign up for the waitlist). Stored at Buttondown. Used to email you about the beta and product updates. One-click unsubscribe in every email.
• Page analytics via Plausible. No cookies, no personal identifiers, no IP storage. Aggregate counters only.
• Optional waitlist poll answer ("would you pay $6/mo? yes/maybe/no") and UTM source. Attached to your Buttondown subscriber record so we can understand which channels brought a good fit.

What we don't collect

• Names
• Phone numbers
• Address, location, or GPS data
• Photos, contacts, calendar, microphone access
• Real identity or account login
• Advertising IDs or any third-party tracking IDs
• Anything you have not explicitly typed into the app

Who else sees your data

• Anthropic (Claude API). Receives the text you submit to AI features. Does not retain or train on API submissions per their commercial terms.
• Cloudflare (proxy + landing host). Routes encrypted requests in transit.
• PostHog (in-app analytics). Sees anonymous events, no personal data.
• Plausible (website analytics). Sees aggregate page views, no cookies, no identifiers.
• Buttondown (website waitlist email). Sees the email address you submit and the poll answer.

That's the whole list. We don't share with advertisers, data brokers, or any unlisted third party.

How to delete your data

• App data (tasks, projects, etc.): Settings → Delete all my data wipes the local database without uninstalling. Or uninstall the app entirely — SQLite goes with it, no residue.
• Anonymous device ID: the same Settings → Delete all my data action also resets it. The next request the app makes uses a fresh anonymous ID.
• Waitlist email: click the unsubscribe link in any email from us, or email support@rosentech.online.
• Anthropic-side data: governed by Anthropic's commercial API terms (no retention by default).

You don't need to ask us to delete anything — uninstalling and unsubscribing covers it. But if you want to, email us and we'll respond within 7 days.

Children's data

Startiny is intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has used the app, email us and we'll delete anything we can.

Changes to this policy

If we make material changes, we'll update the "Last updated" date at the top and announce it in the app or by email if we have your address. Continued use after changes means you accept the new version. We won't expand data collection retroactively without notice.
